Friday 1st April 2011 will the see the commencement of the Woolworths Quality Assurance Standard Version 7 (unfortunately not an April fool’s Joke). This standard is for food companies that supply fresh food into Woolworths or manufacture for their house brands.
There are many changes compared to version 6 with a much greater emphasis on foreign matter control and good manufacturing practices. Another big change is the requirement for “risk assessments” to be undertaken to justify what the food business is doing.
Over the coming weeks, I will be putting up resources, training modules and audit tools to help the food industry comply with the new version. There will also be a series of webinars that you can subscribe to.
Please also be aware that full compliance with Version 7 is required from April 1. This includes any requirements around additional microbiological, chemical and physical assessments. To download a copy of Version 7 and see what other requirements are relevant for your industry please click here or visit the Woolworths Vendors site.
Thanks for the brief of version 7 I just finished an SQF Audit, we were still using Version 6 but it was ok this this Audit.
